The amounts paid to each councillor are published each year.
These are calculated over a financial year - ie from 1 April 2012 to 31 March 2013.
The table (on the pdf) shows the total allowances paid broken down into basic and special responsibility allowances, and travel, subsistence and carer's allowances.
Independent members of the Standards Committee (prior to July 2012) were able to claim travel expenses and an allowance per meeting. The council's Independent Persons (after July 2012) are able to claim travel expenses. These expenses are shown in a separate table on the document.
