LNRS Update - and request for consideration of national targets pdf icon PDF 195 KB

Oxfordshire County Council (OCC) want to set some targets for LNRS delivery and have asked OLNP Board to propose its favoured approach. OLNP Manager to setout some detail to guide the Board’s discussion on this matter.

In addition, DEFRA have just announced that funding will be provided to LNRS Responsible Authorities (in our case OCC) to move from strategy formulation to delivery mode. The Board is asked to reflect on how this might best be spent to achieve maximum impact.

Planning the 2025 OLNP Forum meeting

The Board is asked to consider the focus and timing for the next Forum meeting. We suggest the meeting revolves around the creation of a pipeline of projects that can contribute towards LNRS delivery (something DEFRA might mandate anyway). We could also devote some time to exploring how the partnership might best support development of new projects, which has long been an issue for the nature sector.

Governance and Board membership

OLNP Manager introduces a conversation on Board membership, with five topics:

-          Term length for Board membership is three years, with opportunity to extend for a further one term

-          OLNP needs to find a new health sector representative

-          Should we include a new Communities rep role?

-          Should we include a new County Council rep role?

Board members can consider how they can best ensure they represent the views of their sector
