The Oxfordshire Leaders
(“Joint Committee”) serves as a platform for local
authorities to collaborate on the Oxfordshire Strategic Vision. It
will engage with the government on devolution and growth, focusing
on creating an inclusive and sustainable economy. The Committee
will address key priorities where joint working between the
councils is essential, including devolution, economic strategy,
spatial planning, growth, infrastructure strategy, energy plans,
and the Net Zero Route Map.
The Oxfordshire Leaders Joint
Committee replaces the Future Oxfordshire Partnership. On 28
January 2025, Leaders of Oxfordshire Constituent Authorities
endorsed the change of name of the Future Oxfordshire Partnership
to the Oxfordshire Leaders Joint Committee, new Terms of Reference,
and a Memorandum of Understanding. These will now take effect
following approval by each council
Cabinet.
The Joint Committee is formed
of the Constituent Councils, being the six councils of Oxfordshire:
Cherwell District Council, Oxford City Council, South Oxfordshire
District Council, Vale of White Horse District Council, West
Oxfordshire District Council and Oxfordshire County
Council.
