Scrutiny Committee is asked to review the report and appendices and provide their comments prior to Cabinet being asked to consider approving the publication of the Review and to decide what action to take in response to the Review’s findings.

This shall cover the work to respond to government directions on reorganisation at a regional level, advising as to responses to applications at County level impacting tier 2 authorities including South and Vale, to prepare for a shadow authority and for transfer of responsibilities to that authority as well as for actions relating to the strategic authority.

A report on performance, outstanding cases and improvements, with feedback to be given to the Cabinet member for planning.

Scrutiny committee may wish to call in Cabinet reports to scrutiny if on reviewing these reports, they wish to scrutinise them or particular areas.

When quarterly performance management reports are reported to Cabinet, Scrutiny Committee members will be asked to review the report and confirm to the Scrutiny Chair if there are any elements of the report they wish to discuss at the next Scrutiny Committee meeting.  The relevant Cabinet lead and contact officer will be notified.
