Current ePetitions

An e-Petition is a petition which collects signatures online. This allows petitions and supporting information to be made available to a potentially much wider audience than a traditional paper based petition.

Anyone who lives, works or studies in the area can submit or sign an e-Petition.

E-Petitions are part of the Council’s ongoing commitment to listening to and acting on the views of the public.

Clifton Hampden and Burcot Neighbourhood Development Order Petition

The council has received the following petition signed by 90 residents:

“that the residents of Clifton Hampden and Burcot are given the opportunity to represent themselves by way of a referendum on our NDO without further delay or alteration”.The petition has been passed to planning policy to bring to the attention of the NDO Examiner.

Wallingford Bridge Petition

The council has received the following petition signed by 1051 residents:

"We believe that closing Wallingford bridge to traffic would cause irreparable damage to businesses in the town and lead to increased rather than reduced atmospheric pollution. A solution which leads to more vehicle miles (as travellers access the town through Winterbrook or down Wantage Road) and to increased idling time because of the congestion on both those roads (both of which are effectively single-carriageway for much of their length due to residential parking) is unlikely to reduce emissions, merely to displace them. We ask SODC Councillors not to proceed with this scheme but to investigate alternatives such as a one-way system which would reduce vehicle idling times everywhere in the town".

Didcot Garden Town Petition

The council received a paper petition on 28 February 2017 which was signed by 2,039 people. This called for South Oxfordshire District Council to: 'Please promise to protect all of Didcot's green spaces, paths and amenities on Ladygrove from loss, shrinkage or relocation through future development.' The petition and list of signatories can be found in the Library section on the left-hand side of this webpage. This will be considered by the full Council on 18 May 2017.
